2010 Swim A Thon
Valley Aquatics
The 2010 Swim A Thon Is just around the corner. The dates are from Tuesday, March 16th and Wednesday, March 17th during a swimmers practice time. Each swimmer will swim as many lengths as they can for a two hour block of time (generally most swimmers silver and older can complete the 200 lengths in that time).
The Swim A Thon is our only fundraiser of the year and we are striving for 100% participation. We are asking that each swimmer earn $100. (fully tax deductable donation). The money raised helps to offset pool fees. Our goal is to keep dues the same for the 2010-2010 swim season and need this fundraiser to be a success in order to do that. As a team, we are looking to raise $16,000.
Prizes: Any swimmer who raises $150 will receive a Valley Aquatics mesh bag for their equipment. Any swimmer who raises $250 or more will get a mesh bag and a hooded sweatshirt. Any swimmer raising $500 or more will get the above plus a $30 gift certificate for JD Pence. Any swimmer raising more than $500 will also be in a drawing for a Nintendo Wii.

Target family and friends and either send them an email, letter in the mail, or call them. We discourage people from going door to door to raise money. There is a sample letter that you can use that is posted on the website.
7) What are the possible pledges?
People can pledge your swimmer in two different ways. They can either give a “flat amount” ($10, $20, or more) or they can give an amount per length (such as 5 cents per length). With the flat pledge they can donate before the swim A Thon while with a per length charge you have to go back and get the pledge after the swim a thon.
